New connections between Croatia and Slovenia

ZAGREB – LJUBLJANA – PULA – LJUBLJANA – ZAGREB

In cooperation between HZ Putnicki prijevoz and Slovenske železnice, a new direct train line connecting Zagreb, Ljubljana, and Pula will be introduced from June 20 until the end of the current timetable on 13 December 2025. The train will depart every Friday from Zagreb via Ljubljana to Pula, and return to Zagreb via Ljubljana every Sunday This is the first direct rail link between these cities in over 30 years.

Timetable

  • 1472 Zagreb (14:24) – Zaprešić (14:38) – Ljubljana (16:55) – Pula (21:31) – runs Fridays from June 20
  • 1475 Pula (13:29) – Ljubljana (18:25) – Zaprešić (20:32) – Zagreb (20:46) – runs Sundays from June 22

A modern low-floor train operated by Slovenian Railways will connect the three cities. The train is accessible for passengers in wheelchairs, has space for bicycles and strollers, and is equipped with Wi-Fi and a modern passenger information system. It offers 171 seats and can reach speeds of up to 140 km/h.

Ticket prices

Prices of one-way tickets in 2nd class on the route Zagreb GK – Pula and Pula – Zagreb GK:

  • Free – children under 6 years
  • €8 for children from 6 to 15 years
  • €16 for children aged 15 and up, students, pensioners and seniors over 65
  • €24 for adults
  • €5 for bicycle transport

Tickets can be purchased at international ticket offices of HZ Putnicki prijevoz and Slovenian Railways. 


ZAGREB – LJUBLJANA – ZAGREB

In addition to the 6 daily trains between Zagreb and Ljubljana, two more connections will be introduced on Fridays and Sundays from June 20.

Timetable

431 Ljubljana (11:20) – Zaprešić (13:20) – Zagreb (13:34) – runs Fridays from June 20
430 Zagreb (21:25) – Zaprešić (21:39) – Ljubljana (23:47) – runs Sundays from June 22
Tickets are available at international ticket offices, priced at €9 for adults and €4.5 for children aged 6–12. 
 


PULA – DIVAČA – PULA

From Saturday, June 21, two additional trains will connect Pula and Divača every Saturday.

Timetable

1473 Pula (6:29) – Divača (9:47) – runs Saturdays from June 21            
1474 Divača (18:46) – Pula (22:16) – runs Saturdays from June 21
Trains stop at all stations and stops in the Istrian region.

Tickets are available at international ticket offices, priced at €13.60 for adults and €7.60 for children aged 6–12.   

Passengers at Divača station can continue their journeys to Ljubljana and Maribor.



BUZET – DIVAČA – BUZET 

From June 28 to August 31, 2025, seasonal cross-border trains will operate between Divača and Buzet.  

Timetable

7704     Buzet (9:00) – Divača (9:47) – does not run on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays
7705     Divača (7:53) – Buzet (8:38) – runs daily
7708     Buzet (19:45) – Divača (20:29) – runs daily
7709     Divača (18:46) – Buzet (19:32) – does not run on Saturdays
Passengers can continue their journeys from Divača to Ljubljana and Maribor, and from Buzet toward Pula.
