HŽPP aims to increase the attractiveness of public transport by improving management concepts and modernizing the fleet. With the help of new market-oriented technologies and greater opportunities for users, as part of the project Modernization of the IT and Sales System, HŽPP will increase the efficiency of the railway service by promoting and strengthening online sales channels, wireless Internet service on trains, modernization of mobile terminals, introducing GPS systems, ensuring compliance with standards in the field of IT and cyber security, upgrading the data center of the sales system and ticketing system on the train and informing passengers.

A grant agreement providing funds to finance the eligible costs of the project  was signed on 19 June 2024 by the Ministry of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure, the Central Finance and Contracting Agency for European Union Programmes and Projects and HŽ Putnički prijevoz.

The total value of the project is EUR 17,274,304.18, and the total eligible costs are  EUR 13,819,443.34. The grant in the amount of EUR 6,397,239.37 was provided by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan 2021-2026.

The project implementation period runs from 1 March 2024 until 30 June 2026, i.e. 28 months.
